Jazz, Poetry and Painting: Lefifi Tladi and Ingoma Project Jam Sessions

Southnord, in collaboration with HOBO Hotel, proudly presents an improvisational performance where jazz, poetry and painting intermingle in a unique fusion. South African-born, Swedish-based painter, poet and musician Lefifi Tladi is in dialogue with South African jazz musician Mzwakhe Hlatshwayo and the Ingoma Project for three promising evenings of jam sessions during the Stockholm Jazz Festival 2023.

In 2023, Southnord reunites Lefifi and Mzwakhe during the Stockholm Jazz Festival for a captivating session over three evenings, where each evening is unique.

”The ideas was to bring together these two talented artist from different generations and let them create new works together during these sessions. Mzwakhe will interpret Lefifi's paintings through musical improvisation and hopefully the music will ignite an iterative dialogue and inspire Lefifi’s new work. And so, the circle will continue” says Marcia Harvey Isaksson, director of Southnord.
