Southnord x Bonniers Konsthall

Southnord is proud to present Mothers and Daughters, an evening of poetry, prose and music –a dialogue between T.I.E and Kayo Mpoyi. T.I.E is a Senegalese-Frenchpoet, composer, rapper and artist. She will create a soundscape with a collage of personal stories from Afro-European women about mothers and daughters. Kayo Mpoyi is a Congolese-Swedish writer and artist. She will read from her novel En övning i revolution(An Exercise in Revolution), a book that examines memory and history, migration and community, relationships between mothers and daughters and silences that repeat generation after generation. The performance is presented in connection with Frida Orupabo’s solo exhibition On Lies, Secrets and Silence at Bonnier Konsthall. Frida Orupabo is a Norwegian-Nigerian sociologist and artist living and working in Oslo, Norway. Her work consists of digital and physical collages in various forms, which explore questions related to race, family relations, gender, sexuality, violence and identity focusing on the black female experience.
